We have formed Alive Earth to provide an alternative forum for people who have something to say and want to share their music, songs and performances.
There are only three conditions for taking part:
1. Your performance relates to climate change
2. Your performance is on video to a maximum length of six minutes
3. You are not already performing at Live Earth - sorry Bono.
We welcome postings of all kinds of performances- big and small, amateur and professional, in the Hollywood Bowl and in the bedroom. In addition to music we welcome other forms of performance art including drama, mime, poetry action art. Whatever. And you can be as angry, happy, whimsical, political, or bizarre as you like providing that it has something to do with climate change. All we ask is that it is a performance, so music videos are OK but please no films, lectures, rants or slide shows.
We want video postings as this is supposed to be a virtual concert. We are using YouTube as the vehicle for the Alive Earth as it is the most used and familiar postings site on the web. See below for details of how to load material on the site.
AND PLEASE KEEP ALL PERFORMANCES TO A MAXIMUM OF SIX MINUTES.
This project aims to contribute in a positive way to the global movement to prevent climate change. We would prefer material that relates directly to climate change, its causes or solutions. Material that claims that climate change is not caused by greenhouse gases or not created by human activities will not be accepted. There are plenty of places on the web for this material, but not in this event.
The final line up will be determined by the number of hits (and votes) your receive. So please send the link to your posting to your friends or paste our button on your website with your link.
HOW TO LOAD UP MATERIAL
YouTube has an extensive help system, which will help you to upload your videos and answer any questions that you may have. Click here for more information.
SEND US YOUR DETAILS
If this project is successful there may be a lot of interest in your posting. We would love to support and promote your work but we can only do this if we have your contact details. So, when you load up your performance onto YouTube please send us a short e-mail telling us the name and link for your posting and your contact details (e-mail and telephone). We will not pass your details on to anyone else and will contact you ourselves if we need to.
